A Word to Those Outside the Faith Community

You are welcome here.

When I first envisioned starting this site, I considered trying to limit my faith talk. Motherhood, adoption, and foster care are universal experiences with a wide audience, after all.

And I’ve learned plenty through the years from individuals in the adoption/foster care community with different beliefs than I hold.

But can I be blunt?
Here on this site, it wouldn’t be authentic of me.
You would notice right away that I was holding something back.

My Christian faith is wildly important to me.

If you’re curious, this is what I believe. It has shaped who I am and sustained me in every tender moment of my life. I cannot apologize for it or attempt to communicate without it.

But I do also understand that not everybody who stumbles on this site shares my views or values. I understand you may have been badly hurt by a church or members of a church. If so, I’m sorry.

And I’m still grateful you’re here. No matter where you land on the faith spectrum, you are invited and welcome to stay.

And, as always, you have a safe place to process and discuss things with me here. I’m listening.
